Battery communication error

The inverter can no longer exchange data with the battery or BMS, so stored energy cannot be managed.

Common causes

  • Communication cable between inverter and battery loose or damaged
  • Communication protocol or battery brand setting changed wrongly
  • Battery or BMS not powered
  • Firmware mismatch between inverter and battery

Safe checks

  1. 1Check that the battery and BMS indicators show power.
  2. 2Verify the communication cable at both ends is fully seated without opening enclosures.
  3. 3Note the code so your installer can compare it with the battery protocol configuration.
  4. 4Do not change battery settings you do not understand — incorrect settings can affect warranty.

When to call a technician

Call a qualified technician if the device repeats the fault after a manufacturer-approved restart, shows a burning smell, has damaged or discoloured wiring, or if the symptom involves the battery, inverter power stage or any sealed high-voltage component.
