Red light on charger
The charger shows a red indicator instead of the normal ready state and charging does not start.
Common causes
- Fault detected by the charger, reported through a light pattern
- Ground fault or missing earth connection
- Charging cable or connector problem
- Internal fault requiring service
Safe checks
- 1Count the number of red flashes or note the exact pattern — this is the diagnostic information.
- 2Unplug the connector from the vehicle and reconnect it fully.
- 3Check that the dedicated circuit breaker has not tripped.
- 4Power-cycle the charger only if the manufacturer documents that procedure for your model.
- 5Never open the charger enclosure.

When to call a technician
Call a qualified technician if the device repeats the fault after a manufacturer-approved restart, shows a burning smell, has damaged or discoloured wiring, or if the symptom involves the battery, inverter power stage or any sealed high-voltage component.
